Senate Republicans are trying to slip new and expanded Big Oil loopholes into their tax and budget bill, while planning devastating cuts to food assistance, clean energy rebates, and affordable healthcare.

Our analysis finds that the Senate Republican budget and tax bill includes nearly $18 billion in new handouts to the fossil fuel industry over the next ten years — money originally intended to help families afford clean energy with programs like $21 billion to promote energy-efficient electric heat pumps. Under the Republican plan, lawmakers would spend billions on fossil fuel handouts instead.
